Lefty Gunplay x Kendrick Lamar #TVOff
What’s up Rap Geekz! DJ Mustard and Kendrick Lamar dropped this fire track called “tv off,” and it features Lefty Gunplay, a rising Latino superstar in the rap game who’s repping his Guatemalan-Mexican-American roots. All the way from Baldwin Park and is making waves in the LA rap scene. He raps about his life in the San Gabriel Valley, the tough times he faced while locked up, and he’s not afraid to get real about his struggles.
In a chat with Passionweiss, Lefty talked about what it’s like being a Latino artist trying to show the world what his culture is all about. He said, “It’s a lot of pressure, but I’m not here to let anyone down. I’m gonna keep pushing and show kids like me that you can do it. If I can make it, so can they!”
When Power106 asked him how he ended up working with Kendrick Lamar, Lefty couldn’t believe it was happening at first. He was told, “Kendrick wants you in the studio.” Once they got together, Kendrick gave him mad respect and told him he’s been a fan since April. Lefty said the studio vibe was super chill, and Kendrick even hinted that they’ll definitely collab again in the future. “I feel blessed and honored to represent for us,” he told Letty Peniche, and you can really feel his passion for being part of this track!
