Diddy beats RICO case
Diddy was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges after a jury deliberated for three days. On July 2, he was found not guilty of several serious accusations, including running a criminal enterprise centered on sex trafficking, coercion, and violence. However, the jury did find him guilty of transporting two women, Cassie Ventura and another woman, across state lines for prostitution.
The jury’s decision was a setback for federal prosecutors, who had claimed Diddy led a campaign of manipulation and abuse. The 12-member jury, which took three days to reach a verdict, heard six weeks of testimony and examined various evidence, including surveillance footage and text messages.
Diddy, who has been in custody since his arrest in September 2024, faced serious allegations, including orchestrating sex parties and using his resources to exploit women. Prosecutors also accused him of bribery and other crimes based on testimonies from numerous witnesses.
The defense argued that Diddy’s relationships were consensual, and the attorney emphasized inconsistencies in the prosecution’s case. Diddy, who pleaded not guilty, faced the possibility of life in prison. This acquittal parallels his past legal victory in 2001, when he was found not guilty in a high-profile nightclub shooting case. Now, he is free to continue managing his business empire.
